The Laboratory Network
B.P. Clinical Lab. (or in short BP Lab) commenced its business as a provider of medical laboratory testing and analysis services in 1982, with one laboratory in Ipoh. Today, the single laboratory has mushroomed to an entire network of over 40 branches spanning the whole of Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak - a process which has realised our major corporate objective, which is - to bring healthcare right to the doorstep of the people !

Network Organisation
Four Regional Centres, strategically located in Penang (Northern), Ipoh (Central), Subang Jaya (Metropolitan) and Johor Bahru (Southern) form the cornerstones of the network with full facilities and also provide support services to various branches within the region in marketing, interlaboratory quality checks, testing, referrals and technical advice.

Business Hours
Our doors are always open to serve you :-

• our 4 regional centres operate 365 days a year from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• our 38 branches operate on Mondays to Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Except Sunday and major Public Holidays)

• Histopathology & Cytology
  We provide cost effective Histopathology & Cytology services with fast turnaround time from our team of dedicated pathologists, backed by state-of-the-art technology conforming to stringent international standards
  
  
• Biochemistry
  Services are available for the analysis of biochemical constituents in blood, urine or other body fluids to help hospitals and clinicians in their diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of their patients.
  
  
• Immunology and Serology
  Our complete analytical flexibility walk-away systems provide an extensive range of routine and specialised immunology investigation
  
  
• Microbiology
  By proper institution of collection and handling methodology, the detection and isolation of pathogens and the susceptibility testing of antimicrobials for bacteria is possible.
  
  
• Haematology
  We use a fully automated range of haematology analysers, and ensure their reliable performance to produce timely and accurate results to meet all requirements.
  
  
• Industrial Testing
  We use the latest advanced technology - Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer which is 200 times more sensitive than the Flame-AAS.
  
  
• Hospital Blood Banking
  24 hours services are provided from our Blood Bank to serve the needs of several hospitals

Our users include :

• Over 3,000 private medical practitioners throughout the country, and both private and public hospitals.
• We serve as a panel laboratory for some major corporations and insurance companies, providing laboratory testing services for their staff and clientele.
• We act as an independent in-house laboratory for the following hospitals :-
  1. Perak Chinese Maternity Hospital, Ipoh (since 1980)
  2. Hospital Pantai Putri, Ipoh (since 1996)
  3. Pantai Cheras Medical Centre (1994-1996)
  4. Island Hospital Specialists Clinic (1996)

  1. We conscientiously monitor our analytical quality by both internal and external quality control programmes.
  2. We also participate in internationally recognised external quality assessment programmes.
  3. We are seeking accreditation of our overall laboratory operations, test methodologies and procedures under the ISO/IEC 17025 (Laboratory Accreditation Scheme of Malaysia) which is regulated by the Department of Standards, Malaysia.
