1. Why do I need a hearing aid?

  • Wearing a hearing aid does not only serve the purpose of improving your hearing
    but also prevents you from worsening your hearing loss condition


2. How many types of hearing aids are available in the market?

  1. Amplifier/analogue type
    This might be feasible to use within weeks, but it may damage your hearing in the long term
  2. Trimmer type
    The fine-tuning for this is very limited and it's cannot provide sounds that customer really need
  3. Digital type
    Produces a high quality sound that is extremely accurate.


3. We can buy far cheaper hearing aids from the local pharmacy.
    Why do we have to buy from BP?

  • At BP we provide our customers with quality hearing aid at competitive prices
  • Although hearing aids are easily available over the counter at your local pharmacy, they are in actual
    fact not hearing aids but amplifiers which can cause hearing damage in the long run.
    "A study published by Michigan State University (MSU) in 2008 found low-cost amplifying devices not only do not meet the fitting requirements to help a person with hearing loss, but could actually potentially damage a person's hearing."

4. What brand does BP hearing aid use?

  • We are using AUDY M60 which is a product from Denmark. At BP, our hearing aids are not amplifiers but actual hearing aids. We provide customers with a wide choice of hearing aids, but we make sure to sell the most suitable one to your requirements.


5. How long do we have to wait for hearing aid from BP?

Among our hearing aids are;

  1. Mold type- 2 weeks turn-around-time
  2. Open-fit type, which can be made available instantly

  • We have Easy Payment Plan (EPP ) facilities for Credit card holders 0% financing and downpayment.


9. I have tried other hearing aids but none seems to help

10. How long is the warranty? What if after warranty?
       What kind of services would you provide during or after the warranty period?

11. How many types of HA you selling?

  • Behind-the-ear (BTE)
  • In-the-ear (ITE)


13. Can I just purchase one unit instead of two?

  • Depends on your hearing loss & conditions
  • Wearing two is always better than one - please refer to Advantages of Binaural hearing


13. What is the different between BTE and ITE and why it has got so much diff in price?

  • In The Ear (ITE) - More expensive due to miniature components & required high level of craftsmanship, it can be fitted directly into the ear with less hassle and it may be invisible due to smaller size
  • Behind The Ear (BTE) - Slightly cheaper, usually come with a earmould attach to the HA & wearing behind the ear, looks bulky, might be seen from outside


14. How long does the battery last for?

Few types of batteries

  • Size 13 can last for approximately 215 hours
  • Size 312 can last for approximately 115 hours


15. Where can I purchase the battery?

  • Any BP outlets


16. Do I need to wear the Hearing Aid(s) all day long?

  • Not necessary, it takes a while to go through this aural rehabilitation progress,
    usually wear a couple of hours per day


General questions

1. Will a hearing aid restore my hearing back to normal?

  • Hearing devices benefit many people
  • However, no hearing device can restore your hearing to normal
  • The benefits depend on the degree of your hearing loss


2. Will I become dependent on a hearing aid?

  • Do not be concerned about becoming dependent
  • A hearing device will help you communicate better and enjoy life more
  • Many people wonder how they ever managed without it


3. Does it take long to get used to a hearing aid?

  • This will vary from person to person because every person is different
  • It takes some time to adjust to listening, and to hearing everything louder
  • Hearing devices amplify sounds. Following a conversation in a noisy place can be very difficult
  • With practice, listening can become an enjoyable experience again


4. What are the signs of hearing loss?

  • Loss of hearing is often a gradual process
  • Hearing loss is invisible and more common than people think
  • Some of the early warning signs of hearing loss are: you can hear but not understand;
    you find it hard to hear in noisy situations or groups of people; you think people mumble;
    you need turn the TV up louder than others or, you don't always hear the doorbell or the phone


5. What is an audiogram?

  • An audiogram is used to display the results of a hearing test
  • The softest sounds you can hear are your hearing thresholds and these are marked on an audiogram
  • Hearing tests can tell you the type and degree of hearing loss you may have
